Wonderful Wedding Weeked

The kids and I are still on our vacation. We are coming to the end of the second half of the trip. The first week we spent with family in Washington and this week we are with more family in Oregon. Last weekend was my brothers wedding. It was a wonderful time. Everything was beautiful!

Mimi and Eva were the flower girls. They looked so pretty and they did a great job. I'm so proud of them. Mimi was worrying the night before about what was the right way to throw the flower petals! That's how she is. So we prayed that night that God would help her and Eva on the day of the wedding to not worry and just have a good time. They did such a perfect job!! And they had a blast!!

My Flavi was the ring boy. He was so cute! Him and another little boy shared the job of carrying the ring pillow. I was a proud Mama!! He was the most handsome three year old ring boy I have ever seen! Even Gaby was great! She loved watching everything and stealing the hearts of all the aunts and uncles!!

I am so happy for my brother and new sister in law!! May The Lord bless them in their new journey together. Love you guys!!

More Farm Family Fun!

I feel so blessed to be able to spend time with my Washington family. It's been a long time since I've seen some of them. The kids and I have had a great time!

Being on a farm for 4 days has been good for my children. To just be able to run and play outside all day long means new adventures (even in the rain).

Moments To Remember

Myself and our four kids have taken a vacation together. My family lives in Washington state. And we are all getting together to celebrate my grandmothers birthday.
The kids and I took two airplanes from Kansas to get here. I am excited for all the new adventures and new discoveries my children will have. I have so many wonderful memories with my family here as a child that I want my children to share in that.

This part of the country is so different from our city life in Kansas. From the mountains and the ocean. To staying on my aunts farm and picking grapes. This is a whole new experience in learning. Another reason why I love homeschooling.

Things to remember!!

It has been one of those kind of weeks.  Sunday September 2nd was my husbands installation into our church as the new senior pastor. So from that we have been pretty busy, add homeschooling on top of that and that gave us a crazy busy week!
We finally got some birthday parties in there that needed to be done. Gaby turned 1 in June and we just couldn't find a free weekend to have a party for her. We now we have pictures to prove she really did turn 1!! Mimi really wanted to have a watermelon themed party. Her birthday was in July. She celebrated her birthday with some friends but we didn't get to celebrate it as a family. So I can now check those two off my list.

We have books!!!

Our books have arrived!!! We are so excited to have our school books!

We ended up going with the A Beka Book curriculum. After many weeks of reaching other books and resources I felt A Beka was best for my kids.

We started our first full day of school using our books today. It went well...... and kind of slow! Since I'm still learning the layout of the curriculum and just how homeschool is working for my family. We had fun!! Learning poetry, science, writing and many more fun things. We can't wait to start again tomorrow.
